The power of a tweet for local businesses

New Forest Aromatics are a small business based near Brockenhurst in the New Forest, Hampshire.  They create beautiful, natural products for you and your home that contain high quality ingredients from natural, organic or sustainable sources.  Debbie, the owner, recently attended one of our social media courses and is now active on both Facebook and Twitter.

Due to Debbie being passionate about using local ingredients where she can she's a member of Hampshire Fare @HampshireFare and many of her products carry the New Forest Marque.  On a recent visit to the Hampshire Fare offices she left them a sample of her hand wash.  They later tweeted a picture tagging her twitter handle @NewForestAromas :

This got exposure on their feed with their larger number of followers.  In addition Debbie followed up publicly with a thank you tweet:

Within the hour of this exposure on twitter Debbie was followed by River Cottage Canteen Winchester @WinCanteen who checked out her well constructed twitter bio and gave her a ring to say they were currently using one product in their customer bathrooms but were looking for a local product such as New Forest Aromatics.   new forest aromatics bio Debbie managed to make a direct sale and a new relationship from this one tweet.  Which demonstrates just how powerful a small tweet can be.  Of course then Debbie got even more exposure for her hand wash when the River Cottage then retweeted the original Hampshire Fare tweet with a quote:
